In the last 72 hours (that’s 3 days, if ya doing the MATHz), we went to a bunch of web3 meetups

What’s a web3 meetup:

An event where a bunch of web3 people get together to talk about web3 without normal people telling them to shut up. 🥲

Over the weekend, the following events went down:

  • Unfold 2022

  • OG Club DAO’s Creator’s Meetup

  • Sharedeum Web3 IRL Meetup

  • Demo Day | Conquest’22

Here are our top-picks:

Building for trust and building for lulz

We strutted around CoinDCX’s Unfold 2022, wearing our doodhwala stickers #minimalism and handing out a secret surprise.

(hint: it wasn’t Milk, that would be too obvious)

Here are the key highlights:

👉 One talk — Balaji Sir, “can you hear us?!”

Balaji Srinivasan, the ex-CTO of Coinbase, author of the Network State, and the south Indian version of Sharma ji ka beta, dropped some 🔥

His topic was — “On-chain consensus”

Basically, he answered — How can we use on-chain data to draw consensus among large network states beyond just nation states?

Here’s a breakdown:

  • we need a fiat-country bridge

  • what do we need to start — company (Google), community (FB), currency (BTC)

  • to do this we need oracles (for data) + consensus among oracles

  • use stats to prove rank — annual income, population, sq. meters

That’s a lot of gyaan early in the morning.

👉 One project — Trust in Truts

What is the one web3 thing that can be both, annoying like a fly stuck inside your car and also super fun like reading the doodhwala?

Web3 communities.

Some communities make you truly feel like you are part of something larger than yourself and others make you want to jump off a cliff.

But how do you find these amazing, 10/10 communities?

As Raj Karia, the brain behind Truts, would say, you had to:

Creators are using web3 to make dough

On Saturday evening, while BLR was out partying (but mostly stuck in traffic and the rains), we went to the OG Club DAO’s Creator Meetup!

Here are the highlights:

  • Creators are using web3 tools like — community and NFTs to bring on-chain transparency and a revenue-sharing model for creators.

  • Creators aren’t just helping themselves, but communities like niche food and beverage enjoyers, and artisan and cottage industries

  • Creators are niching down into specific fields and focusing on reaching that group of 1000 that truly vibes with them

Sidenote: We met some young and hungry community peeps that were full of 🔥

A big shout out to the hustlers from:

  • Hashstack

  • Exa Protocol

The web3 scene in India is definitely growing and there is an increased sense of bullish vibes in the community. 

Everybody is building. And they are building incredibly cool stuff. 

From groundbreaking technology to scale blockchains to games that make you laugh and make you money. 

You can't NOT be bullish on India.

You can't NOT be bullish on our desi talent.

The web3 revolution will be fueled by pure DESI doodh! 💪 🇮🇳
