🐙 FREE stickers and Doodh
We’re talking about every party topic rn — “A multi-chain future”
Gm, this is your doodhwala, the reason you have a “bitcoin” or “buidler” sticker on your laptop.
Speaking of stickers, we spoke to someone giving out DOPE web3 stickers.
And on the side, they’re building a crazy good application to interact with:
⛓ blockchains 🏪 exchanges 👜 wallets
All at once
Stickers 🤝 infrastructure
Mobile app 🤝 the decentralized world
Let’s dive in

It was not so OBVIOUS at first
Today’s Saturday.
So, you’re either planning a BIG NIGHT out or a quiet night in. Either way, you can party with the doodhwala and our Desi Degen Dost.
And we’re talking about every party topic rn — “A multi-chain future”
I know it sounds boring, but hear me out.
I have lots of big money (like 5 bucks) on Ethereum, and some on Polygon, and Avalanche.
(there are some txns forever stuck on Solana as well 😭 and some rolled-back txns on Binance Smart Chain too)
But I can’t view all of them at once, that sucks
I want to know how broke…uhh…wealthy I am in one glance.
Few applications allow me to do this.
The ones that do this have a few problems:
❌ can’t transfer between wallets
❌ can’t bridge between blockchains
❌ can’t integrate CeFi exchange wallets
🥛 can’t read the doodhwala directly
👉 Enter Obvious Tech
A pretty neat app that’s doing all this and a hella lot more that I got no clue about
So, to find out more I spoke to Pradeep Banavara.
Who tf is is Pradeep?
doodh enthusiast
former PRODUCT head-guy at Swiggy, Grab, and OLA
BBall Panda NFT wearer
co-founder of Obvious Technology
laptop sticker giver
We’re focusing on the obvious part for now.
If you wanna listen to the FULL UNEDITED conversation, check out the podcast here:
Let’s see what OBVIOUS is OBVIOUSly up to.

🍼 Obvious first question — why the name Obvious? Was it an obvious choice or was there an obvious alternative? And what’s so obviously obvious about Obvious?
So Obvious is trying to make sure that — regular people like you and me get access to crypto. There are multiple ways to look at “access” here:
buy crypto
trade crypto
hold crypto
All of this is fine, but what about transacting with crypto?
What we do is help people transact with crypto by matching liquidity 🤝 opportunity.
A simple analogy is — UPI payments in 🇮🇳
When UPI came out in 2016 — apps like PayTm and PhonePe only supported a few banks. And only a few people could use it.
Fast forward to 2022 — everyone from the doodhwala 👉 paanwala uses UPI!
This is because people have liquidity (aka money) in several accounts.
And when a user buys food on Swiggy, she doesn’t care which bank account is she transferring money to.
She cares about the food.

The idea is — technology becomes magic when technology becomes invisible.
That’s what UPI did. 💡
That’s what Obvious is trying to do.
I have money in my wallet + I have money in multiple places.
But there are on-chain opportunities in several places — NFTs, Metaverses, DeFi, GameFi.
Obvious comes in and says — “hey guys, we’ll handle all the obvious tech, you do the most obvious thing — put your money into good use wherever you’d like.”
Ahh, now when you say it like that it sounds obviously simple. 🤷♂️
🍼 Why tf does everyone at Obvious have an 🐙 octopus 🐙 next to their name?
🐙 is our spirit animal — (let me explain)
We call him Obvi.
See, an octopus has 3 hearts and for crypto this depicts:
DeFi
NFTs
DAOs
It also has:
Multiple arms → multi-chain approach.
Multiple suckers → multiple wallets.
A big head → CEX as the controlling head.

And (the best part) it’s available as an emoji → 🐙 🐙 🐙
Obvi helps people who are Oblivious about crypto + web3 (the Oblis) to become Obvious about crypto + web3 (the Obvis).
Our goal is to get people from Obli → Obvi.
Damn what a sincere goal. And we’re here just making memes and stuff. 😭
🚨 Challenge ALERT 🚨
See these cool stickers:

Obvious is giving these out to doodhwala readers.
All you gotta do is → share this newsletter on Twitter + refer 2️⃣ of your friends.
And we’ll drop them to you.
(the doodhwala will also drop you a bottle of your favorite milky drink 🧋)
🍼 Bridges and wallet dashboards are a difficult game to be in (almost as difficult as the newsletter biz). How are you different from someone like Zapper, Zerion, Hop, or Across?
When we spoke to our users, they told us they’re big users of apps like these.
There are 3 problems with this:
👉 These apps are tracking first, not transaction first
👉 These apps are limited to EVM-chains
👉 These apps appeal to on-chain users (no exchange support)
These apps catered to maxis (exchange maxis, ETH maxi, on-chain maxi) but none of them were user maxis.
Here’s what a user wants:
In my day-to-day life, I happen to have multiple exchange accounts. I happen to have multiple wallets and I want to participate in all of these opportunities. So gimme something that allows me to do all of that tracking. Yes, it's a solved problem. Give me something to do transactions.
So we built an app that is → 🥇 user first 🥇 transaction first 🥇 mobile first.
With this approach, we’re helping people become degens.
See, there are 4️⃣ steps to becoming a crypto degen:
Step 1 Discover: “Oh there are mad opportunities here”
Step 2 Dabble: “Oh let me put a few thousand rupees into an NFT or a lending protocol ”
Step 3 Dive Deeper: “Oh let me look at Crypto Twitter, join Discord servers and read v v cool newsletters like the doodhwala.”
Step 4: Double down: “Oh shit this opportunity really works, let me REALLY get into it now.”
Our product appeals to the crypto native. We help them discover opportunities, dabble in different protocols, chains, dive deeper into what they’d like, and eventually double down.
Maybe we can add a Step 5: Doodh? 🍼🍼🍼

🍼 Most Dapps are web first, so to see something on mobile (and tbh I haven’t checked out the website), is pretty cool. Was this something you started with from the get-go or some kinda change?
The funny thing is we call all of this web3 but most apps are still stuck on browsers smh 🥲
And since I’ve looked at web1 + web2 (and now) web3, I can tell that the WEB grew exponentially only when the smartphone came out.
Crypto is at a similar inflection point. 👉👈
Exchanges started this by doing two things — bringing crypto to the mobile + allowing you to access multiple chains.
We’re trying to do the same thing. And this is how I explain the goal of Obvious:
“The ideal scenario for me is I should be able to buy an NFT on Magic Eden using MATIC on Metamask while I’m traveling on a BMTC bus or a Mumbai Local Train.”
Let’s unpack this:
1️⃣ NFT on Magic Eden: opportunity
2️⃣ MATIC on Metamask: crypto on a wallet
3️⃣ BMTC or a Mumbai Local Train: on the go
In order to do this now, you’ll have to:
Transfer MATIC from Metamask to a CeFi exchange → Convert it to SOL → Transfer SOL to a Solana Wallet → Buy an NFT on Magic Eden
OR
Bridge MATIC from Metamask → Receive SOL on Solana wallet → Buy an NFT on Magic Eden
Obvious says, “you just add one wallet, we’ll create the rest, move the money, and allow you to participate in opportunities everywhere.”
All of this from your 📱
Damn, and all I do with my phone is shitpost and doomscroll. 🥲
🍼 What’s one crypto or crypto-adjacent company that you look at and go, “Damn, that company is doing something very cool”?
I’d like to refer to companies in crypto as DAOs.
And one DAO that I’m really kicked about is — the SuperTeam DAO.
They’re providing a large platform for people to get into crypto through education, bounties, a learn-to-earn model, and a whole bunch of cool things.
I also like Rabbit Hole and our 🇮🇳 frens QuestBook for getting in so many people into web3.
Great list, gotta add the waladoodh to this too. 👀

🍼 What trends in crypto interest you currently? Even if you don't have the time but you think someone should pounce on it because there’s a lot of potential.
I think people are building serious stuff.
I think people should start building fun stuff.
When the app store came up, there was this app called the Fart app 💨, the Horn app 🥳
They didn’t have any purpose. But they allowed people to come in a play with apps.
That’s what we need in crypto right now — something that’s as simple and easy as drinking a glass of 🥛.
My request to builders is — stop running behind TVL and high-level security and build something that’s fun to play with.
And don’t take yourself too seriously.
Oh! And Pradeep’s played flappymusk, so he knows what he’s talkin about with fun apps. 😂

🍼 We all know you love Coffee With Crypto, but is that the only way you like to take your doodh, or do you have another fav option?
Being a south Indian (and a Bengalooorian) I love my coffee. ☕️
But I also love my kadak chai. 🫖
And I also love Dharwad’s doodh peda. 🤤
Gimme doodh in any form, I love it.
Man loves doodh more than us! We love to see it.
This was a great conversation with Pradeep, Obvious’ head Octopus and Dreamoor! 🐙

Yo! Our legal and financial advisors (aka our good ol’ conscience) have asked us to add this boring disclaimer.
None of what you read here is financial advice. We aren’t here to get you to buy or sell a crypto. We’re only here to tell you what’s up in crypto today and make you laugh. So, if you screwed up on a trade, that’s on you G. Stay safe in the markets.
