😮 ETH Community Conference is…Wild.

ETH just got done with their prestigious ETH Community Conference in Paris last night. 🗼

WTF is it? What were the highlights?🚦

And most importantly— How did they party?

1️⃣ WTF is EthCC?

Ethereum Community Conference, a.k.a, EthCC is an annual event conducted in Paris every year. 🇫🇷

ETH’s most prestigious event boasts huge numbers every year, and this year wasn't any different—

👉 350+ speakers.

👉 250+ events.

👉 5000+ attendees.

What do they do there?

Well, they're building the future of what seems to improve global adoption of Crypto → Networking and Partying. 🤷

Well not exactly, but that's 80% of attendees at any conference. 👀

We only go to conferences where raw cow milk is served in shot glasses. 😤🥛

2️⃣ Vitalik’s speech at EthCC

One of the biggest events at EthCC was Vitalik's idea for the global adoption of crypto.

We wrote about it yesterday.

Here's a quick recap of it anyways 👇

👉 Implement account abstraction, a.k.a, EIP - 4337.

👉 Introduce Multi-signature wallets.

👉 Low-fee transaction signing.

All of this made the ETH Bois more confident in the project than they ever were—

And made them realize the doodh-packed power of the project that they invested in. 🥛

3️⃣ Some exciting stuff at EthCC

EthCC wasn’t just a conference to talk about the wild adoption of crypto and then a party in its name. 🥳

It’s also a great stage for speakers to address the State of Crypto Affairs and give their latest in terms of innovation and trends.

There were 2 of them that really stood out—

☝️Mirela Spasova, a senior engineer for Reddit talked about the company’s pivot to digital avatar adoption and how they were willing to onboard millions of users into digital collectibles.

Reddit currently has—

  • Onboarded 8 million users.

  • Has thousands of creators on the platform.

  • Has made > $1 million in revenue for 30-100 creators so far.

✌️ Sriram Krishnan of a16z, one of crypto’s biggest investors talked about how crypto could potentially fix social media and consumer applications.

In his own words, he said that it is now time to “build large-scale crypto consumer social media marketplace applications.” 🌐

We hope there’s more to this soon.

However, the doodhwala will never visit ethCC until they start serving raw doodh. 😤

🔥 El Salvador’s on fire!

The start of 2023 saw something way more exciting than my gym membership.🕺

Bitcoin and El Salvador's government bonds both started to rise up, up, up! 🚀📈

Bonds?

Well, those are like a promise from the government that they will pay back money to people who lend it to them with a sweet little interest payout in return.

Since the start of the year, both these things have jumped up in value.

  • El Salvador's 2027 bonds have gone up by 60%.

  • Bitcoin? It went up even more, by 80%! 😮

And we've come a long way since September 2022 when Fitch Ratings, the credit rating dudes, downgraded El Salvador's debt rating.

They were all doom and gloom, predicting a debt default by January 2023. 😱

Debt default is basically the government's way of saying "Oops, we can't pay you back!" 🤭

But, El Salvador surprised everyone.

Like we surprise our fam by being funny in the most unfunny situations. 🥛

Not only did the default not happen, but El Salvador also paid off a cool $800 million bond. 😎

Plus, people have been excited about the appointment of Alejandro Werner, a former official from the International Monetary Fund, as an advisor to the finance ministry.

El Salvador and Bitcoin have been buddies since 2021.

Cuz that's when El Salvador said you can use Bitcoin just like normal money.

And not normal like this 👇

The results have been mixed. 🤔

More tourists, but not many locals are using it to buy stuff...yet.

According to Bloomberg, El Salvador owns 2,546 Bitcoin, which is worth about $76.6 million. 🤯

Bitcoin's big jump this year is because of a few things.

The US Federal Reserve decided not to increase interest rates.

Plus, Blackrock, a big finance company, is planning to launch a Bitcoin ETF. 🚀

But not everyone is happy about this.

Some US Senators are worried about this whole Bitcoin thing.

They're concerned it could make things unstable and it could be used for illegal activities.

But whatever, right? El Salvador and Bitcoin are having a blast, and we're loving it! 🥳

🥈 A.I. and Big Data with a 323.76% boom.

🥉 Lending and borrowing with a 148.67% increase.
