💀 The $42 million "Crypto King" kidnapping

This is a wild story involving:

• A 23 year old crypto millionaire

• A $42 million investment

• A kidnapping

Meet Aiden Pleterski.

He goes by the name “Crypto King,” and claims to be a master crypto investor.

If someone takes a crypto word and adds a piece of royalty to it, you know they’re shady af. 🤨

In 2021, during the peak of the bull market – Aiden set up a crypto investing company under his name called – AP Private Equity.

He convinced over 100 investors that he was a smart AF crypto investor. 🧠

These investors gave him $42 million to invest in the crypto markets. But in reality, he invested less than 2% of this.

The rest of the money? Like any 23-year-old, he spent it on cars, private jets, and alcohol (but no doodh 😭)

But how did these millionaire investors trust Aiden to invest in the most volatile market in the world?

2 reasons.

1️⃣ His Instagram FLEX

I’m not even joking.

Aiden was busy uploading pictures of him with several fancy cars like:

🏎️ BMW

🏎️ Ferrari

🏎️ McLaren

🏎️ Lamborghini

🛺 An Uber Auto that magically never doesn’t cancel on you

This was all over his Instagram and Youtube accounts (which have since been taken down)

We could only find pictures like this 👇

Btw that’s a Lamborghini Urus worth $400k ☝️ or the same as a trip from the airport to Bangalore city. 😢

2️⃣ His paid MEDIA

Aiden was smart. 💡

He didn’t target every investor on the planet. Instead, he targetted a region with the highest concentration of millionaires per kilometer.

He targeted – Monaco 🤴🏻.

Aiden targeted people in Monaco with PR articles from media companies like – Forbes Monaco and The Daily Caller.

These companies used headlines like:

The Daily Caller featured article is still live. 🤣

They wrote (sponsored articles) about him claiming that he's a crypto genius, investing money for millionaires all over the world into Bitcoin, ETH, and altcoins.

These articles even claimed that crypto investing is safe because crypto prices "is not very likely to plummet like that of other more traditional currency."

Bruh what are you smokin? 🤣

Enter Mr. Gupta

In August 2022, Aiden’s private equity firm filed for bankruptcy and he was accused of running an investment scam.

Yeah, no shit bruh 👍

Six months into dealing with the bankruptcy case and the millions in claims, Aiden “mysteriously” got kidnapped.

Yeah, no one saw that coming bruh 👌

And the details of the kidnapping are hilarious.

He was:

• kidnapped

• held for 3 days

• beaten + tortured

• driven around Ontario

And THEN the kidnappers allowed him to make 1 phone call 📞

Whom did he call?

🚨 The police?

👨‍👩‍👦 His parents?

🥛 The doodhwala?

He called his Indian landlord – a guy called Sandeep Gupta – and asked him to pay $3 million to his kidnappers 💀

Bruh, an Indian in a foreign country wouldn’t even pay $2 for water, you think he’ll pay $3 million to save a crypto scammer? 🤣 🤣 🤣

The kidnappers who could obviously not bargain with the Indian landlord (ain’t no one can bargain with a Mr. Gupta) "finally" let Aiden finally go.

Now, Aiden is still tryna get back the $42 million he “invested” and is probably tryna come up with another way he can gain sympathy and avoid paying this amount.

Our advice?

Start a milk delivery company. Everyone loves milk and most importantly it's an honest business. 🙏

So, let’s look at the Crypto Crystal Ball of the Future a.k.a on-chain data. 📈

We gotta admit, the ZK (Zero Knowledge) race is getting more intense than an India-Pakistan match.

👉 StarkNet has been on mainnet since December 2021

👉 Polygon is set to launch zkEVM checks watch TODAY!

👉 zkSync’s Alpha mainnet went live just after the Arbitrum airdrop

Although all of them might have a token plan for the future, none of them has put out any concrete plans.

But despite this, people have been flocking to these networks to hopefully “farm” for potential airdrops.

A total of 223k ETH has been bridged over to zkSync by ~654k addresses.

Sure, some of them have been on this network for a while and building cool things…

…but the past week has broken all records in terms of total new deposits.

2️⃣ StarkNet

This network, on the other hand, has had much lower inflows but it still reached ATH last week. 😳

💰 Total Number → 20.2k ETH deposited by ~185k addresses.

Yet another SUPER TALL spike in transactions.👇

This is a good thing. ✅

Sure, A LOT of people are running to the network just in the hopes of an airdrop that might not even happen.

More people = more people using the tech.

More people using the tech = some end up ACTUALLY liking it 🔥

It’s like when my mom deviously tricked me into eating vegetables by making them into an aeroplane that flew directly into my mouth.

But hey! Jokes on her. I ended up liking carrots. 😎

You never know!

People might actually enjoy the benefits these new ZK networks have to offer. (Especially the speed part ⚡️)

So yeah, airdrops are doing their job…

…which is to make more raise awareness of the project and get more users. 🚀

📈 Chaach and Charts: The drop in airdrop

What happens when you give someone free assets in a market that is:

• very liquid

• highly volatile

• filled with mad weirdos like 🫵

They end up selling these free assets.

That’s ☝️ exactly what happens with airdrops.

Pretty much every airdrop in the past year has seen a massive price fall 📉 a few days after the tokens are airdropped to the eligible wallets.

Here’s what happened with these token’s prices 1 month after the airdrop:

🔴 OP – down 70%

🟠 BLUR – down 25%

🟢 LOOKS – down 43%

And the same is slowly happening to ARB as well (it’s down by 15% since the drop on March 23).

I guess they’re putting the “drop” in airdrop? 🤣
